Midsummer Lifestyle: My July Finds!

Midsummer Lifestyle: My July Finds!

Ahhh… Another month is on its way out the door, but it is leaving behind these four lovely discoveries! Throughout the month of July, I have tried new products to review! These four are things that I knew I would (most likely) enjoy before I tried them, but now that I have, I am not sure I can go back to using my old stuff!

Okay, let’s talk beauty. First is Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap. I have heard outstanding things about Dr. Bronner’s productsthey are cruelty free, non-GMO, and supposedly leave your body feeling perfectly clean.

Dr. Bronner’s 18-in-1 Peppermint Pure-Castille Soap

I picked this 4 oz. bottle up at the local organic food shop in my area, and I couldn’t be happier! This peppermint-infused soap can be used all over the body and face, but I use it as a facial wash while I am in the shower. It leaves my face feeling really clean and tight, and the cooling, minty feeling from the peppermint is soothing and rejuvenating. This soap would be great to use in the morning for those who have trouble waking up, as the peppermint scent is so strong! I find that this dissolves my makeup so well, and I am so happy to use it knowing that is is good for my skin. 🙂 You can read more about Dr. Bronner’s products here.

This second product is a nail polish! I love light colors for the summertime (they make me look slightly tan, even though I still look like Casper). This baby pink shade from Rimmel London is terrific!

Shade 203: Lose Your Lingerie from the Rita Ora collection
I stole borrowed this from my mom over the Fourth of July weekend and just can’t bring myself to bring it back quite yet.
Next is a drink. I am a die-hard fan of Thai iced tea, so when I found this bottle at the local organic food shop, I knew I needed to try it! Chris knew I wanted it, too, so he surprised me with it one afternoon this week and I was over the moon!
Real Thai Tea Latte from Taste Nirvana
This tea is so smooth and authentic-tasting! It has that classic red tea taste, and the milk and sugar make it absolutely superb. It is a little on the sweet side, but that is just the way I like it. Though I have not yet been to Thailand, I am so happy that I can walk across the street and pick up one of these bottles whenever I want! My wallet won’t be happy, but my tastebuds will be. 🙂
Finally, I have been listening to this book for the past few weeks! I don’t normally go for audiobooks, but I had a coupon code for a free one so I couldn’t resist.
My Paris Dream by Kate Betts is available on Audible.com
This book is a memoir by Kate Betts, an award-winning fashion journalist who has held editing positions at Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue, and follows her life as she recounts her experience moving to Paris after college to pursue a career in journalism. As a budding journalist and an aspiring writer/editor myself, I was so, so happy when I heard about this book through an article on Her Campus! I am halfway done, but I am trying to take it slow and enjoy it while it lasts. A full review will be posted on this blog as soon as I finish it.
Thanks for reading!

  1. “My Paris Dream” is on my to-read list. I'm a devoted Francophile. I love Dr. Bronner's soaps, too. A word of caution, however. The peppermint one can be a bit, uh, too *invigorating* for sensitive areas. If you know what I mean. 😉
